How to Visit the Sculpture Garden in Lake Nona
Central Florida is home to so many attractions. Whether you are a thrill seeker, animal lover, professional shopper or nature explorer, we have it all. But, sometimes I get tired of hearing about Disney, Universal Studios, or Seaworld. It’s why I created this series – completely dedicated to exploring and highlighting other areas of Central Florida.
In this installment of my A Tank Away Series, I visit the Sculpture Garden in Lake Nona. If you’re looking for a unique way to spend an afternoon in Central Florida, look no further than the Sculpture Garden in Lake Nona
What to Expect
The Lake Nona Sculpture Garden is a 50,000 square-foot outdoor space designed to showcase a selection of sculptures from one of the world’s largest private collections, the Lewis Collection. The easiest way to find this tropical oasis of world- renowned sculptures, is to go to the Lake Nona Wave Hotel. You will find the garden directly next door to the hotel. The current collection of artwork includes works from Arturo di Modica, Fernando Botero, Henry Moore, Phillip Jackson, and Enzo Plazzota.
I recommend spending at least one hour here, wandering from piece to piece and reading about them. Or if you’d rather, grab a seat on one of the many swinging bench seats and just enjoy the peacefulness. Before you leave though, make sure you stop and see some of the more famous pieces of work. The most famous being the Charging Bull by Arturo di Modica. You cannot miss it! It’s a 7,100 pound bronze sculpture, also known by another name, the ‘ Wall Street Bull.’ Or stop by and see my favorite, four pieces by a local artist JEFRE. They’re entitled Faith, Empowerment, Time and Passion and are tall, chrome colored sculptures. It’s hard to miss these as well!
Lake Nona is already home to so many public art pieces, the sculpture garden fits in right at home. Not only is it easy and free, but it’s an activity that can be enjoyed any day of the week.
